In 1948 Da Wabbit opened at 615 Kepler Street in downtown Gretna. It was an instant hit and local favorite as a drive-in with its iconic Bugs Bunny themed sign. As times changed so did Da Wabbit. Under the watchful eye of current owners Eric and Dawn Savoie, who took over in 2004, Da Wabbit has thrived. But don’t worry the iconic sign and its carrot eating mascot have lived on through the years, still standing at what has transformed into Café 615 Home of Da Wabbit in what is now historic downtown Gretna.
Famous for great prices, big portions, and authentic Creole cooking, they feature a menu filled with classic entrees, pasta dishes, seafood, po-boys, deserts, and so much more. At Café 615 the bar is always open with lots of local beer on tap, an impressive wine list and ready to mix up one of their specialty cocktails like the Blue Bunny or the famous Jose’s Wabbitt Wita.
If all that wasn’t enough Café 615 does catering right so you can enjoy your event and leave the cooking to them!
Serving authentic creole dishes, seafood, and local favorites bring a friend, your boo, and your momma n dem’ cause you’ll always have the meal of your life at Da wabbit!
